This farm house is located in the posh residential sea side area of east coast road, in Chennai
When the client got the land, there was an existing house already built in it and he wanted us to design a new house alongside as he did not want to demolish the existing one but wanted to refurbish that as a guest staying facility
Our proposal was to design new house and attach it to the existing house by way of a bridge at the first floor level.
The house is also provided with a beautifully shaped swimming pool and a large lawn area to conduct parties.
The building is designed to face the sea to take advantage of the views and also the sea breeze. Most of the bedrooms are located on the first floor and provided with balconies all around the house.
The tiled roof was selected to go with the natural surroundings of the area, and the slopes are are arranged such a way that they do not attract the sunlight.
Landscaping is the main feature of this retreat with its large lush green lawns and rustic stone pavings interspersed with grass in between.
The owner of the house who lives in Chennai uses this house as his weekend retreat.
